Designed for industrial production, phosphorescent pigments have theability to store light and glowing. These pigments are loaded with exposure to a light source (sun light, or UV light), and the energy slowly return shining in the darkness.
DEFINITION: the term “photoluminescent” encompasses generally all types of pigment that can emit light thanks to a light stimulation. For accuracy, we refer to the fluorescent type pigments.
BRIGHTNESS: the pigments glow for a variable period of time following a quick and decreasing luminance curve, that than becomes stable for many hours. The brightness is expressed in millicandele/mq. The total decay of the luminescent effect can reach up to several days after stimulation. The light intensity depends on the size and the color of the pigment: the Green pigments of big size shine longer.
APPEARANCE: colorless powder at the day light
PIGMENT TYPES: wide variety of pigments, with a wide selection of colors, sizes and types (hydro o solvent version). Those pigments are selected from the finest quality products and are therefore able to produce the most intense brightness. The new photo-luminescent long lasting waterproof pigments type are ideal for use in aqueous or solvent phase: they are the only powders that can be mixed in water based preparation without reaction, being covered with a special treatment.
Those pigments are available in 7 different colours and 1 single grain size: 30-40
BRAND NAME: Arco Iris (was LumenStar)
PROPERTIES: the main quality of these pigments is their excellent ability toabsorb/accumulate/ri-emanate light energy. They can absorb a large variety of natural or artificial light.
